When at home your pet could get restless and want to move out. But little do they know they are many fun ways to keep them entertained without having to leave your 4 walls, all while building a strong bond with them. Here’s a bunch of fun activities for you to try with your companion!
ACTIVITY 1: BRUSHING UP ON TRICKS
Being at home presents a golden opportunity to pet parents to revise old and learn new tricks and other notions. When was the last you asked your dog to roll over or play dead? Giving them a revision of these basis tricks will fill both of your days with a lot of fun and laughter, and everyone knows time flys when you’re having fun.
ACTIVITY 2: HIDE & SEEK
One of the most renowned game isn’t just loved by us humans but pets too! Of course, it’s important for your dog to know the ‘stay’ notion. When you’re ready to hide you ask to stay while you go hide. Then you call out to them leading them to come search of you. A game of 'hide and seek' can be very exciting and exhilarating for them.
ACTIVITY 3: THE SHELL GAME
A simple game of finding the right cup can get their excitement levels to new levels. Place a toy or treat under a cup, place decoy cups around them give it a whirl of the infamous shuffle. Ask them to find the real one. Animals have a sharp instinct so try now to make it too easy for them.
ACTIVITY 4: TUG OF WAR
Contrary to popular belief an innocent and light heart game of tug of war with your pet doesn’t make them more aggressive and neither does letting them win, make them dominant. Letting them win just makes it more fun for them and would encourage them to want to play more in the future.
ACTIVITY 5: FIND THE TREAT
Nose work games always challenge a dog’s sense, making it more fun and the ideal workout that rewards them with the treat they hunt down. So how should you go about it? Grab a few treats your pet likes, then place them in different places and have them watch you do it. After that encourage them to find the treats and don’t forget to praise them after they do.
